Peak Climbing in Nepal - Pokalde Peak Climbing

General Information

Pokalde Peak also known as Domla Ri is one of the shortest and easiest trekking peaks situated 12 km southwest of Mount Everest. The trek route is the same as of the Everest trek, classed as a trekking peak, the climb up Pokalde doesn't require special technical skills but the sections of it must not be attempted during poor weather. The peak offers the spectacular views of Mount Makalu, Ama Dablam, Pumori and particularly to the South East, North West and West.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Guided tour in Kathmandu and preparation for trek (B)
Day 03: Flight to Lukla (2840m) trek to Phakding (2640m) 4 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazar (3440m) 6 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 05: Acclimatization day (B.L.D)
Day 06: Namche to Phortse Thanga (3680m) 5 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 07: Phortse Thanga to Machhermo (4470 m) 5 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 08: Machhermo to Gokyo (4790 m) 5½ hrs (B.L.D)
Day 09: Trek to Gokyo Ri (5483m) and then Back to Gokyo 5 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 10: Gokyo to Nyimagawa (5050m) 6 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 11: Nyimagawa to Cho La Pass (5420m) and trek to Dzongla (4840m) 6 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 12: Dzongla to Lobuche (4910m) 4 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 13: Lobuche to Everest B. C. (5450m) and back to Gorakshep (5250m) 7 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 14: Gorakshep to Kala Pathar (5545m) & back to Lobuche 5 hrs (B.L.D)

Day 15: Lobuche to Pokhalde Base Camp (4500m) (B.L.D)
Day 16: Climb to Pokhalde summit (5806m) & return to Base Camp (B.L.D)
Day 17: Base Camp to Dingboche 6 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 18: Dingboche to Tengboche 5 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 19: Tengboche to Namche 5 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 20: Namche to Lukla 5 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 21: Fly to Kathmandu (B)
Day 22: Shopping and rest in Kathmandu. (B)
Day 23: Final departure to Airport (B)
