View Detail...Annapurna Kali Gandaki valley is the deepest gorge in the world due to the drop between the tops of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, both over 8000m. The upper part of the gorge is also called Thak Khola after the local Thakali people who became prosperous from trans-Himalayan trade. Hence, you get welcomed into the valley by hospitable Thakali people and the system of lodges and tea-houses is also well-developed. The trail passes through the green fertile lowlands to the barren and dusty hillsides on the northern side of the Annapurna Mountains and Dhaulagiri icefalls.
