Peak Climbing in Nepal - Mera Peak Climbing

General Information

Mera Peak, classified as a trekking peak lies in the Sagarmatha region of Nepal. The peak is mostly famous for the rewarding views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyo, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and many other Himalayan peaks. The normal route for climbing mera peak is base camp at 5,300m on the Hongu side of moraine below the ice and the high camp is set at 5,800m on the Mera glacier. The high camp to Mera La is one of the most spectacular view points of Nepal offering panoramic views of dozens of mountains.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Making official document & sightseeing. (B)
Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2800m.) and start trek to Chutok La pass (2945m), overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 04: Trek to Pangkongma (2950 m) after crossing Col Khari La (3081m) approximate 6 hrs overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 05: Trek to Kurke (3800m) approximate 5 hrs overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 06: Trek to Thuli Kharka (4200m) approximate 6 hrs overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 07: Trek to Kothe (3800m) approximate 6 hrs overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 08: Trek to Thangnak (4350m) approximate 6 hrs overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 09: Acclimatization at Thangnak, overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 10: Trek to Khare, approximate 4 hrs overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 11: Ascent to Mera Base camp (5200m) via Mera La pass (5415m), approximate 5 hrs overnight at tented camp.
Day 12: Ascent to high camp (5780m) approximate 6 hrs overnight at tented camp.
Day 13: Summit to Mera peak (6654m), approximate 9 hrs overnight at tented camp.
Day 14: Extra day to summit Mera peak incases of bad weather, overnight at tented camp.
Day 15: Trek back to Thangnak, Overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 16: Trek to Tashing Dingma, Overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 17: Trek to Chetava Kharka, Overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 18: Trek to Chuthangka, Overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 19: Trek to Lukla, Overnight at tented camp. (B.L.D)
Day 20: Fly back to Kathmandu, Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 21: Shopping and rest day in Kathmandu, overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 22: Transfer to airport, departure onward destination. (B)
